The Starston 100 Club exists to support the Jubilee Hall.
The 100 Club is run by the Jubilee Hall Management Committee and exists exclusively to raise funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the hall and, more recently the Glebe Meadow, which was purchased for the village in 2011. The Club has about 100 members each paying a subscription of £12 a year. From this amount some is returned to members by means of 3 draws a year with several prizes in each draw.
Recent major repairs and significant improvements to the fabric of the building have been funded by grants but this has been an exceptional situation. We also need a regular inflow of funds to cover the normal running costs – heat, light, insurance, caretaker costs, various essential purchses and general maintenance when necessary. Much of this is met from income from hall lettings on a regular basis but the 100 Club helps to play its part.
Recent projects that the 100 Club has helped to fund include the replacement of one of our marquees which had seen good service over a number of years but which was showing signs of wear and tear. There will always be this kind of need so the 100 Club still has an important part to play.
